Bank of America CEO Brian Moynihan says he’s ready to meet with New York City Mayor-elect Zohran Mamdani to discuss the city’s future as competing states try to court concerned business owners away from the Big Apple.

“Now that a mayor is in office, whether it’s this city or any other city, we have an obligation as a company to work with him to try to make the city successful,” Moynihan said Tuesday on Fox News.

“I’ve got 16,000 teammates who work just in the neighborhood here, and we’ve got to make it successful.”

The key to that, he said, is how Mamdani approaches “governing all the people in the whole city, and [how] he has to carry the budget and the tax base.”

Moynihan argued that the company’s success is partly tied to the success of elected officials like Mamdani and the cities, towns and states they represent.

He told “Fox & Friends” co-host Brian Kilmeade he plans to request a meeting with the mayor-elect, calling the issue “important” to thousands of Bank of America employees and their families who rely on New York City being “great.”

In an interview with Fox News, Moynihan said, “Now that a mayor is in office, whether it’s this city or any other city, we have an obligation as a company to work with him to try to make the city successful.” AP

Moynihan believes that the future of NYC being successful is how the mayor-elect governs residents across the city. Dennis A. Clark

“As I look forward, I hope that the mayor will engage with us, and we’ll give him some ideas,” he added.

Mamdani’s win has inspired some right-wing voices to entice residents and businesses to flee the Big Apple to come their way.

New Hampshire Gov. Kelly Ayotte, for one, worked to recruit those eyeing a greener pasture by advertising with a large van covered in rotating digital posters, one of which read, “NYC business owners: Mamdani got you down? Come on up to New Hampshire for no Communism, less red tape, and less taxes.”

Bank of America CEO Brian Moynihan plans to have a meeting with New York City Mayor-elect Zohran Mamdani to discuss the future of the Big Apple. Christopher Sadowski

A Times Square billboard – reportedly funded by a super PAC supporting Vivek Ramaswamy’s Ohio gubernatorial campaign – invited New Yorkers to flee “radical socialist” Mamdani for the “freedom” promised in the Buckeye State.

Moynihan’s comments come after he announced a major initiative to hire 10,000 veterans over the next five years, a pledge he outlined during his appearance.

“We believe our company is a great company for veterans, and we believe we owe it to make sure we’re bringing those veterans into our company. Even if they come to work for us for five years and get a job somewhere else, we’ve given them a great start and helped them make that transition,” he said.

UnitedHealth has sought meetings with President Trump, although it has not secured one yet, the Wall Street Journal reported on Sunday.

The attempts are part of a bolstered lobbying effort in Washington, DC, by the top U.S. health insurer at a time it faces numerous regulatory challenges, the paper reported.

UnitedHealth has been grappling with high costs and federal investigations, including a criminal one into its Medicare billing practices, which have pushed its share price down around 30% this year. Stephen Hemsley returned to the CEO role in May, after the ouster of Andrew Witty, and promised to regain investor trust.

Hemsley recently met Trump’s chief of staff, Susie Wiles, although the criminal investigation was not discussed or brought up by the CEO, a White House official told Reuters.

The WSJ said the meeting covered discussion on the Medicare health insurance program for seniors and the disabled as well as other issues, also citing a White House official.

Hemsley also had dinner with Chris Klomp, the official overseeing Medicare in the summer, and discussed Medicare-plan billing policies and supplemental benefits offered under private Medicare plans, the newspaper said.

In response to Reuters’ request for comment, UnitedHealth said “public policy shapes healthcare across America, and it’s our responsibility to engage with the administration and Congress at all levels to improve patient access and affordability,” adding that it is especially true now “as critical decisions are being made.”

Kush Desai, a White House spokesperson, told the WSJ the Trump administration “routinely meets with insurers to deliver on the President’s mandate of improving healthcare and lowering costs for everyday Americans.”

The running joke about book clubs being primarily to schmooze and booze it up may not be entirely accurate, but that doesn’t mean you can’t — or shouldn’t — turn each meeting into a mini party. I have got some great pieces of bookish barware for you to check out below.

But, you protest, my book club doesn’t even drink! Well, you’ll be happy to know that the driest reading groups can benefit from having some fun barware floating around their meetings. Even if you don’t indulge, the drinking vessels and accessories on the list below will bring some much-needed pizzazz to your next get-together. And that’s something we can all get behind, right?

Now, I am not saying the reason your last book club failed was due to your unimaginative drinkware. What I am saying is that the rosé tastes better when it’s sipped out of a fancy — or at least attractive — glass. That’s just science!

All that being said, let’s talk about what you will find here. Whether you’re into an ultra-niche subgenre or striving for the widest possible appeal, you’re in good hands. (And congratulations on knowing exactly what you are all about!)

Regardless of the vibe your reading group is aiming for, trust me when I say that there is something for you on this list. I have picked out whimsical swizzle sticks, fandom glasses, classics-inspired drink coasters, and even a little something for the horror fans in the audience.

Best of all, these affordable bits and baubles get you the most bang for your book-buying buck. There are absolutely no losers here…well, except for the fools who want to keep their potentially grand book clubs all boring and grey.

Below, check out the best bookish barware pieces guaranteed to zhuzh up your next book club meeting.

Bookish Barware for Your Next Book Club Meeting

For horror lovers, there’s this personalized tumbler inspired by The Shining. Get it for yourself or the forever-put-upon host. $35

I’m in love with these bookish swizzle sticks — and I don’t even drink! They’re just so much fun, and at this low price point, they make a neat little treat for anyone who loves books. $16

Glass cans are all the rage on the barware scene right now, so don’t sleep on these glass cans featuring bookish tarot card designs. $14

If your book club isn’t afraid not to take itself too seriously, consider getting this serving tray decorated with lesbian pulp novel covers. It’s kitschy-campy in all the best possible ways. $54

Anne of Green Gables fans, rejoice! This customizable raspberry cordial glass will delight your book club friends. $25

For the classics fans, there are these lovely Jane Austen novel coasters. They’re sure to make you feel like you’re schmoozing in a big, Beauty and the Beast-esque library, even if you’re just in your bestie’s living room. $29

A Court of Thorns and Roses merch is everywhere, but these ACOTAR-inspired pint glasses really stand out from the crowd. $26

These miniature book nooks may be a bit spendy, but they’re great for small book clubs. And with a dedicated space for your cocktail, they make fantastic entertaining accessories as well. $63

One of the most affordable items on this list is this three-piece set of bookish shot glasses, which is just too fun to overlook. $15

I know stemless wine glasses are the drinkware of choice right now, but hear me out. These wine charms, perfect for book lovers, are too cute. $19

Want more bookish goods to add to your shopping list? Check out these bookish annotation tools and planner supplies.

Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg dined with Donald Trump at Mar-a-Lago — after reportedly requesting the meeting with the president-elect to discuss “the incoming administration” Wednesday.

“It’s an important time for the future of American Innovation. Mark was grateful for the invitation to join President Trump for dinner and the opportunity to meet with members of his team about the incoming Administration,” a Meta spokesperson said in a statement provided to The Post.

The Trump-Vance transition team did not immediately respond to The Post’s request for comment.

Stephen Miller, the incoming White House deputy chief of staff for policy, confirmed that Zuckerberg met with the president-elect during an appearance on Fox News’ “The Ingraham Angle.”

Trump is preparing for his second term in the White House. AFP via Getty Images

“Mark Zuckerberg has been very clear about his desire to be a supporter of and a partnership in this change that we’re seeing all around America, all around the world, with this reform movement that Donald Trump is leading,” Miller said.

“Mark Zuckerberg, like so many business leaders, understands that President Trump is an agent of change, an agent of prosperity,” he added.

“And so business leaders, CEOs everywhere, they want to be an element, a supporter, a booster of making our economy prosperous, delivering for American workers and making sure that America is the most powerful, wealthiest, freest nation on the face of the Earth.”

Miller noted that Zuckerberg, 40, “has his own interests and he has his own company and he has his own agenda” — but has “made clear that he wants to support the national renewal of America under President Trump’s leadership.”

The Mar-a-Lago meeting was reportedly initiated by Zuckerberg, according to the New York Times.

The president-elect and Facebook creator “largely exchanged pleasantries” during their meeting and Zuckerberg congratulated Trump on his Election Day victory, the outlet reported.

Earlier this year, Trump, 78, described Facebook as “a true Enemy of the People,” claiming that Zuckerberg’s company “cheated in the last Election.”

Zuckerberg linked up with the president-elect on Wednesday. AP

The 45th president leveled the accusation in a March Truth Social post in which he argued that banning TikTok, a social media platform owned by the Chinese parent company, would benefit Zuckerberg.

“If you get rid of TikTok, Facebook and Zuckerschmuck will double their business,” Trump wrote, referring to Meta founder and CEO.

“I don’t want Facebook, who cheated in the last Election, doing better. They are a true Enemy of the People!” he added.

Trump appeared to be referring to the $400 million-plus Zuckerberg spent in the 2020 cycle to help finance local elections.

The so-called “Zuckerbucks” initiative was roundly criticized by Republicans as an attempt to influence the 2020 vote.

The Meta CEO pledged in an August letter to the House Judiciary Committee that while his motives were “nonpartisan” he wouldn’t be making a similar contribution in 2024.

In July, Meta rolled back restrictions on Trump’s Facebook and Instagram accounts put in place after the Jan. 6, 2021, riot at the Capitol Building.

Trump, who has a combined total of nearly 54 million followers on both Facebook and Instagram, was suspended from the platforms the day after the riot.

His account privileges were restored in February 2023 after a two-year ban, but some restrictions remained, which were lifted to bring him to parity with President Biden – who was still in the race at the time – in the final months of the 2024 campaign.
