Spirit Airlines, trying to emerge from its second bankruptcy in less than a year, has sold another 20 of its Airbus planes and is bringing flight attendants back from furlough.

The sale of the 20 aircraft, most of which are not in service, comes as Spirit is attempting to stabilize after years of financial struggles that have executives fighting to keep the carrier alive.

“At this time, natural attrition and voluntary actions are providing flexibility needed to right-size our staffing levels for both Pilots and Flight attendants,” Spirit Chief Operating Officer John Bendoraitis said in a note to employees Wednesday night.

The sales brings Spirit’s fleet to 94 aircraft, and is “consistent with our plan to focus on our strongest routes and the most efficient fleet,” Bendoraitis said. The aircraft will be phased out starting in April, he said.

Deal talks with investment firm Castlelake and fellow budget carrier Frontier Airlines haven’t yielded an agreement that would give Spirit a path forward, though the airline could forge a plan on its own.

Read more CNBC airline news

The Dania Beach, Florida-based carrier is also calling 500 flight attendants back from furlough, just as it gears up for the spring break travel season.

“Fixing this airline is a shared effort,” Bendoraitis said. “There’s a lot in this moment that crews can’t control, but we do need you to continue giving us the foundation for a strong operation.”

Spirit has slashed its network and fleet and furloughed more than 1,300 flight attendants and hundreds of pilots to save cash.

“This is good news for 500 Flight Attendants and their families and critical to those of us on the line that have faced a grueling operation over the last two months,” the Association of Flight Attendants-CWA, the union for Spirit flight attendants, said in a message to members Wednesday. “The company’s goal in recalling Flight Attendants is to ease some of the operational issues since the furloughs.”

Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang said Monday that the company’s next generation of chips is in “full production,” saying they can deliver five times the artificial-intelligence computing of the company’s previous chips when serving up chatbots and other AI apps.

In a speech at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, the leader of the world’s most valuable company revealed new details about its chips, which will arrive later this year and which Nvidia executives told Reuters are already in the company’s labs being tested by AI firms, as Nvidia faces increasing competition from rivals as well as its own customers.

The Vera Rubin platform, made up of six separate Nvidia chips, is expected to debut later this year, with the flagship device containing 72 of the company’s flagship graphics units and 36 of its new central processors. Huang showed how they can be strung together into “pods” with more than 1,000 Rubin chips.

In a speech at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, Jensen Huang, the leader of the world’s most valuable company revealed new details about its chips, which will arrive later this year. AFP via Getty Images

To get the new performance results, however, Huang said the Rubin chips use a proprietary kind of data that the company hopes the wider industry will adopt.

“This is how we were able to deliver such a gigantic step up in performance, even though we only have 1.6 times the number of transistors,” Huang said.

While Nvidia still dominates the market for training AI models, it faces far more competition – from traditional rivals such as Advanced Micro Devices as well as customers like Alphabet’s Google – in delivering the fruits of those models to hundreds of millions of users of chatbots and other technologies.

Much of Huang’s speech focused on how well the new chips would work for that task, including adding a new layer of storage technology called “context memory storage” aimed at helping chatbots provide snappier responses to long questions and conversations when being used by millions of users at once.

To get the new performance results, however, Huang said the Rubin chips use a proprietary kind of data that the company hopes the wider industry will adopt. AFP via Getty Images

Nvidia also touted a new generation of networking switches with a new kind of connection called co-packaged optics. The technology, which is key to linking together thousands of machines into one, competes with offerings from Broadcom and Cisco Systems.

In other announcements, Huang highlighted new software that can help self-driving cars make decisions about which path to take – and leave a paper trail for engineers to use afterward. Nvidia showed research about software, called Alpamayo, late last year, with Huang saying on Monday it would be released more widely, along with the data used to train it so that automakers can make evaluations.

“Not only do we open-source the models, we also open-source the data that we use to train those models, because only in that way can you truly trust how the models came to be,” Huang said from a stage in Las Vegas.

Huang with a robot powered by Nvidia technology. AP

Last month, Nvidia scooped up talent and chip technology from startup Groq, including executives who were instrumental in helping Alphabet’s Google design its own AI chips. While Google is a major Nvidia customer, its own chips have emerged as one of Nvidia’s biggest threats as Google works closely with Meta Platforms and others to chip away at Nvidia’s AI stronghold.

At the same time, Nvidia is eager to show that its latest products can outperform older chips like the H200, which President Trump has allowed to flow to China. Reuters has reported that the chip, which was the predecessor to Nvidia’s current flagship “Blackwell” chip, is in high demand in China, which has alarmed China hawks across the US political spectrum.

California Democrat Rep. Ro Khanna says he has a solution for Silicon Valley elites angered by his embrace of a wealth tax: Tackling fraud.

Over the weekend, Khanna came under fire from some donors and allies in the tech industry after he endorsed a wealth tax. Labor groups in California are trying to add a proposal for a statewide tax on billionaires to the November ballot, prompting some wealthy Californians to warn they will leave the state if it passes and support a primary challenger to Khanna in next year’s elections.

In an interview with CNBC, Khanna, who represents Silicon Valley, said he’s launching a bipartisan effort from his post on the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee to root out state-level fraud to ensure the new tax windfall doesn’t go to waste. The effort, he said, will make sure that funds go toward health care and other essential services.

“If you want, as I do, to advocate for Medicare for all, to advocate for higher taxes, you have to have the public trust,” Khanna said. “People need to have a receipt for what their money is going toward. You can’t have corruption in the government and waste in the government and then expect people to support the progressive ideals that I have.”

Khanna said he will find someone on the other side of the aisle to work with on the issue, similar to his recent partnership with Rep. Thomas Massie, R-Ky., that compelled the release of files relating to notorious sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. Khanna said he hopes to commission a bipartisan Government Accountability Office report on state-level fraud and hold hearings on the issue.

U.S. Representative Thomas Massie (R-KY), accompanied by U.S. Representatives Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) and Ro Khanna (D-CA), speaks during a press conference on the Epstein Files Transparency Act ahead of a House vote on the release of files related to the late convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C., U.S., November 18, 2025.

Annabelle Gordon | Reuters

Khanna’s pitch comes after the California State Auditor released new reports that identified potential fraud in the state. Meanwhile, alleged fraud cases in Minnesota, some leading to indictments first handed down in 2022, have also seen renewed national attention from Republican lawmakers and the Trump administration.

Many who criticized Khanna’s endorsement of a wealth tax cited those instances of fraud as a reason that the tax won’t work.

“If, after audits and zero based budgets, there are revenue gaps, I’d support a wealth tax,” said Chamath Palihapitiya, a prominent tech investor and Trump supporter, in a post to X. “Until then, you and your ilk are just getting more incentives for fraud, voter manipulation and larceny.”

Khanna noted that his new oversight effort is in response to “feedback from constituents in my district and leaders” over his embrace of a wealth tax.

He added that the investigation will cover more than just the fraud uncovered in California and Minnesota, and that finding a Republican partner will prevent the investigation from becoming a partisan affair.

“It’s not going to be a blue state or a red state thing,” Khanna said. “Obviously, there have been the reports in Minnesota and California, but it’s beyond that. We need to look at state government and making not just an issue against blue states, but to expose where this fraud is happening and what we can do about it.”

California and Minnesota are both run by Democratic governors. Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, the former Democratic vice presidential candidate, is up for reelection in 2026. House Oversight Committee Chair James Comer, R-Ky., has called on Minnesota officials to testify before his committee.

The California wealth tax proposal, known as the 2026 Billionaire Tax Act, would levy a one-time 5% tax on the assets of the state’s billionaires to shore up an expected shortfall in the state’s health-care budget. The Service Employees International Union-United Healthcare Workers West labor union is pushing the measure.

The measure still needs to garner enough signatures to qualify for the ballot. If it does, it would be up to California voters to decide on installing the new tax.

Tech leaders opposing the proposal are concerned the tax would apply to unrealized gains, meaning startup founders with a net worth of more than $1 billion based on the paper value of their private stock would be on the hook despite their wealth being illiquid.

Khanna acknowledged those concerns in the interview, saying he supports a wealth tax to pay for health care in California and federally, but with the caveat that there are “workarounds for stock that is restricted with illiquid founders who have companies that are not profitable.”

“You can do it in a way that doesn’t hurt the startup paper billionaires with restricted stock,” he said.

CNN political commentator Scott Jennings tore into MSNBC’s Lawrence O’Donnell this week, calling the primetime host a “lunatic” and a “failed media personality” after O’Donnell accused him of being paid to “lie” about Donald Trump on-air.

“There’s this lunatic on MSNBC at 10 o’clock every night named Lawrence O’Donnell,” Jennings said Wednesday on “The Scott Jennings Radio Show.”

“I had sort of forgotten that he was a thing. But I guess he still has a show and he went crazy on yours truly the other night.”

CNN political commentator Scott Jennings tore into MSNBC’s Lawrence O’Donnell this week. X/ScottJenningsKY

Jennings said O’Donnell’s attack was fueled by jealousy over sagging ratings. He attacked the former aide to the late Sen. Daniel Patrick Moynihan (D-NY) as a “failed media personality.”

“Here is Lawrence O’Donnell’s real problem. He’s irrelevant. Nobody likes his show,” Jennings said.

The conservative pundit, who frequently appears on CNN’s “NewsNight with Abby Phillip,” claimed the show was beating O’Donnell’s “Last Word” in the Nielsen ratings by “30% on a nightly basis” among viewers aged 25 to 54 — the key advertising demographic — in the month of October.

In terms of overall viewership, O’Donnell generates a larger audience than Phillip, according to Nielsen figures.

“Can you imagine having a television show on a network and you spend your precious time on that network complaining about what someone else is doing on another network?” Jennings said.

“That’s how much pressure Lawrence O’Donnell is under.”

“There’s this lunatic on MSNBC at 10 o’clock every night named Lawrence O’Donnell,” Jennings said Wednesday on “The Scott Jennings Radio Show.” O’Donnell is pictured above. MSNBC

O’Donnell kicked off the feud Monday on his show when he torched CNN for what he called “absurdly degraded” programming under network chief Mark Thompson.

“The head of CNN … hired by the Trump-supporting owner and operator of CNN, is an Englishman who thinks paying Scott Jennings to lie about Donald Trump is money very well spent,” O’Donnell said.

The conservative pundit, who frequently appears on CNN’s “NewsNight with Abby Phillip,” claimed the show was beating O’Donnell’s “Last Word” in ratings among the 25-54 age demographic. CNN

He accused Jennings, a former aide to Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.), of transforming into “a rabid, lying Trump supporter” to boost his profile.

“When he first started appearing on television, he was capable of criticizing some of the more extreme Trump positions,” O’Donnell said.

“Can you imagine having a television show on a network and you spend your precious time on that network complaining about what someone else is doing on another network?” Jennings said. X/ScottJenningsKY

“But Scott Jennings figured out where the money is and how he could get his own podcast and decided to become the ‘JD Vance of CNN.’”

O’Donnell also mocked Thompson’s recent remarks comparing Jennings to D’Artagnan of “The Three Musketeers,” calling the compliment “the single goofiest thing ever said by anyone in charge of CNN.”

“Good television,” O’Donnell scoffed. “Here’s how bad that television is that they make over there. The show that Scott Jennings frequents the most is on opposite this program. And that show on a good night gets half — half of the audience of this show.”

There’s this irrelevant lunatic on MSNBC named Lawrence O’Donnell. I actually forgot he existed.

But apparently, my existence caused him to have a mental breakdown live on the air.

I think I’ve figured out why he’s so upset pic.twitter.com/GyRmeyMW9X

— Scott Jennings (@ScottJenningsKY) October 29, 2025

In an interview with Mediaite earlier this month, Thompson likened Jennings to D’Artagnan for his spirited clashes with liberal panelists.

“He’s got his sword out and he’s got about four Democrats against him, but he spiked them all off,” Thompson said.

“And it makes for not just good television, but also for, in some ways, a slightly deeper testing of the ideas all the way around that table.”

The Post has sought comment from CNN and MSNBC.

Palantir‘s head of global communications said Wednesday that the company’s political shift toward the Trump administration is “concerning.”

“I think it’s going to be challenging, as a lot of the company is moving pro-Trum-, you know, is moving in a certain direction,” communications chief Lisa Gordon said in an interview at The Information’s Women in Tech, Media and Finance summit.

“It’s concerning,” she said, while noting she’s a Democrat and previously worked on Walter Mondale’s presidential campaign.

President Ronald Reagan defeated Mondale, who served as vice president under Jimmy Carter, in the 1984 presidential election.

The Information later removed videos of Gordon’s remarks from its YouTube, X and Instagram pages.

Jessica Lessin, editor-in-chief of The Information, explained the decision in a note to CNBC.

“In this case, I felt I wasn’t clear enough that the videos were going to be shared, so I decided to take them down. The interview remains online as it always has been and you can read it here,” she said.

Other videos of panel discussions from the WTF Summit were still posted to the publication’s accounts.

Palantir CEO Alex Karp, who has given money to the campaigns of former Vice President Kamala Harris and President Joe Biden, has been outspoken about his recent support for President Donald Trump.

Gordon said at the summit that Karp’s “frustration with the Democrats” pushed him in a different direction politically.

Gordon told CNBC in an email that “Palantir welcomes diverse opinions.”

“The company has worked with four administrations and prides itself on supporting the nation no matter who’s in office,” she wrote.

Palantir, which is also a donor for the White House’s new ballroom that is under construction, just inked a contract with the U.S. Army worth up to $10 billion over the next decade.

The deal further cemented the company’s role in the U.S. government’s focus on cost efficiencies by using artificial intelligence tools.

Palantir also sponsored the president’s parade for the U.S. Army’s 250th birthday in June.

“So until recently, we’re pretty much on both sides, and so it hasn’t been that challenging,” Gordon said at the summit about Republicans and Democrats. “I’m just starting to navigate that now, moving forward, where I feel like there’s been a shift.”

The analytics firm co-founded by Peter Thiel, has helped U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) with data used for the agency’s crackdown on immigration. Palantir won a $30 million contract to build the government a new platform called ImmigrationOS that allows the agency to “streamline” the identification and deportation of immigrants.

Gordon’s comments this week show how internal dynamics within the company are working as it undergoes this political movement. Gordon has worked at Palantir since 2009.

“You don’t get fired for having a different position, but you will leave if you’re not aligned, ultimately, like if you don’t support Israel,” Gordon said, referring to Karp’s staunch support of Israel amid the conflict in Gaza.

Palantir has supplied tools to Israel during the war in Gaza. Israel launched the campaign after Hamas-led fighters stormed through southern Israel, killing 1,200 people and bringing 251 hostages back to Gaza.

As of this week, Gaza health authorities said 68,000 people were confirmed killed in the Israeli strikes and thousands more were missing.

Karp has said that the company has lost employees and expects to lose more over his public support for Israel.

“What we try to focus on are the missions, not the personalities so much and and staying true to the work,” said Gordon.

President Donald Trump is stepping up his calls to deploy the National Guard to San Francisco at the very moment that the city is undergoing a post-pandemic resurgence, propelled by artificial intelligence.

Crime rates are down 30% from 2024, homicide levels hit their lowest levels in 70 years and car break-ins haven’t been this low in 22 years. Meanwhile, event bookings and tourism are on the rise, residential real estate is becoming more scarce and the office market is heating up.

Business momentum in the city is largely built on the AI boom.

New data from CBRE show venture capital funding in 2025 is expected to surpass the record high of $276 billion hit in 2021. The bulk of that investment has been in San Francisco and Silicon Valley, where 80% of AI venture funding through the third quarter has been targeted to the tune of $115 billion.

By the end of the September, the San Francisco Bay Area was already 35% above its previous annual investment peak, according to CBRE’s VC Funding analysis.

“San Franciscans are feeling positive about the direction of our city once again,” Daniel Lurie, the city’s Democratic mayor said in a statement last week released by Governor Gavin Newsom’s office. “And we are going to continue working every single day to build on this progress and keep our city safe 365 days a year.”

The statement was meant to tout the successful efforts of local law enforcement ahead of Salesforce’s annual Dreamforce conference last week. The issue became particularly controversial after Salesforce CEO Marc Benioff told the New York Times that he’d support Trump’s call for federal troops to be sent to San Francisco. His sentiments were publicly supported by Elon Musk and David Sacks, high-profile techies with close ties to the Trump Administration.

On Friday, facing mounting criticism, Benioff backtracked, posting on X that, “Having listened closely to my fellow San Franciscans and our local officials, and after the largest and safest Dreamforce in our history, I do not believe the National Guard is needed to address safety in San Francisco.”

The Trump administration recently deployed the National Guard to Chicago and Portland, Oregon, sparking protests and lawsuits. Over the weekend, President Trump repeated his plans to send troops to San Francisco, telling Fox News’ Maria Bartiromo that, “the difference is I think they want us in San Francisco.”

The White House didn’t immediately respond to CNBC’s request for comment on the President’s plans.

In a statement late Monday, Lurie said San Francisco law enforcement has partnerships with federal agencies to deal with drug crimes and additional troops aren’t necessary.

“I am deeply grateful to the members of our military for their service to our country, but the National Guard does not have the authority to arrest drug dealers — and sending them to San Francisco will do nothing to get fentanyl off the streets or make our city safer,” Lurie said.

Lurie previously cheered the safety of events that took place in the last week including Dreamforce and No Kings Protests over the weekend. In contrast to Newsom, Lurie has taken a far less combative approach to Trump since taking office in January.

“San Francisco is on the rise,” Lurie wrote in a post on X on Oct. 12, a couple days before Dreamforce was set to begin.

The data support that view.

Tourism spending is expected to increase modestly this year to $9.35 billion, up from $9.26 billion, according to the San Francisco Travel Association. Conferences, sporting events such as NBA All-Star weekend, and music festivals like Outside Lands have contributed to the growth.

The commercial real estate market is also recovering as Covid-era work from home policies get slowly unwound.

Tech companies increased their share of leasing activity by square footage to 53% in 2025, the highest since 2019, CBRE said. Apartment rental prices are surging as well. Multifamily rentals increased 6% in August, much more than the 3.75% jump in Chicago, the city with the second-steepest climb, according to CoStar.

Ted Egan, chief economist for San Francisco, told CNBC in an interview that “housing is probably as cheap as it’s going to get for a while.”

There remains plenty of room for improvement. The city has lost key tenants in its downtown shopping district in recent years, including its flagship Nordstrom store. The Nordstrom location was part of San Francisco City Centre, which was the city’s largest mall but is now effectively empty.

Office vacancies remained high at 33.6% in the third quarter, according to Cushman and Wakefield. Homelessness and open drug use are longstanding issues, heavily concentrated in certain parts of the city.

But Egan said that, in addition to the data, he’s noticed a significant change in the city’s health.

“It seems cleaner and safer now than it’s ever been in any of the time that I’ve been here,” said Egan, who’s worked in San Francisco for more than 20 years. “I still think it’s a great place to move to because it’s got tons of economic opportunity. It’s got tons of long-term economic strengths for people starting out in their career.”

Elon Musk stands in the Oval Office to attend a press event with U.S. President Donald Trump, at the White House in Washington, D.C., U.S., May 30, 2025.

Nathan Howard | Reuters

Elon Musk this week urged his followers to cancel their Netflix subscriptions over a controversy surrounding an animated show and its creator.

Musk on Wednesday posted on his X platform saying, “Cancel Netflix for the health of your kids.” The post was in response to an image accusing Netflix of carrying out a “transgender woke agenda.”

The controversy seems to stem from conservative backlash over an animated Netflix show, “Dead End: Paranormal Park,” which features a transgender character. The show was canceled in 2023 after two seasons.

In addition to several anti-trans posts, Musk also responded to a post criticizing alleged statements made by the show’s creator, Hamish Steele, that a prominent conservative X account said “mocked” the murder of conservative activist Charlie Kirk.

Steele responded to Musk’s callout on rival social media platform Bluesky saying, “It’s probably going to be a very odd day.” Steele also shared a post by TV writer Jack Bernhardt that called “Dead End” a “brilliant show about kind, wonderful characters.”

Netflix did not respond to CNBC’s request for comment.

Analysts say the backlash might not pose as big of a threat to Netflix as Musk may be hoping for.

Netflix reported 301.63 million subscribers as of the fourth quarter of 2024, the last time it reported the metric before shifting priority to revenue over user growth. The company has a roughly $490 billion market cap, and its stock is up more than 60% in the past year.

Shares are down 4% so far this week.

“Is that going to move the needle necessarily? … You’re going to see people sign up on the back of that to counter it,” CNBC contributor Guy Adami said Wednesday on “Fast Money.”

“I don’t think this is a reason to sell the stock,” he added.

Wedbush Securities’ Alicia Reese told CNBC that the comments came too late in the third quarter to make any meaningful impact on subscriber counts.

Still, she said she believes the backlash won’t make a major dent and that any impact will be offset by an increase in ad revenue.

“Their numbers should come out just fine,” Reese said. “I think that shares haven’t been hit too hard.”

Seymour Asset Management’s Tim Seymour said though a day of headlines may move the stock around, Netflix shares are ultimately too expensive to be significantly affected by internet backlash.

“We’ve had these moments in time where, whether it was an ad campaign that went wrong or whether it was some sense that a company was aligned in a particular political channel… I don’t think that that’s going to be the reason to sell Netflix here,” Seymour said Wednesday.

The calls for a boycott mirror those against Anheuser-Busch InBev in 2023 after it released an ad campaign with transgender influencer Dylan Mulvaney. But the boycott of Bud Light, CNBC contributor Karen Finerman noted on Wednesday, yielded “far greater” destruction than any other recent examples.

“I feel like this will be very fleeting,” Finerman said.

President Donald Trump on Friday demanded that Microsoft fire Lisa Monaco, an executive who served as deputy attorney general during the Biden administration.

The request appeared on Trump’s Truth Social account, which has 10 million followers. It comes one day after former FBI Director James Comey was indicted, days after Trump pushed to prosecute him.

“She is a menace to U.S. National Security, especially given the major contracts that Microsoft has with the United States Government,” Trump wrote in the post. “Because of Monaco’s many wrongful acts, the U.S. Government recently stripped her of all Security Clearances, took away all of her access to National Security Intelligence, and banned her from all Federal Properties.”

Microsoft declined to comment.

Parts of the U.S. government use Microsoft’s cloud infrastructure and productivity software. Earlier this month, Microsoft agreed to offer $3.1 billion in savings in one year on cloud services for agencies to use.

Earlier on Friday, Fox Business anchor Maria Bartiromo published an X post about Monaco joining Microsoft. The appointment happened in July, according to Monaco’s LinkedIn profile. The post contained a link to a July article on the University of Chicago law school’s website.

On Thursday, Microsoft said it would cut off cloud-based storage and artificial intelligence subscriptions to a unit of the Israeli military, after investigating a claim that the division had built a system to track Palestinians’ phone calls.

On Monday, Trump is set to meet with Benjamin Netanyahu, Israel’s prime minister, NBC News reported.

Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella attended a dinner alongside other technology executives at the White House earlier this month.

Hashtags like #BoycottDisney and #BoycottABCNetwork trended on X and Bluesky, where users posted screenshots canceling Disney+ subscriptions, citing Kimmel’s removal as the reason.

“Boycott everything affiliated with ABC and Disney. Pass it on,” the Democrat-aligned political commentator known by the X handle “JoJoFromJerz” urged her 1 million followers.

Writer Wajahat Ali demanded a “collective boycott” until Kimmel is reinstated.

“Marvel movies need to shutdown. Ditto the sitcoms,” he wrote.

“Corporations love money more than anything, & this will really harm them and force them to do the right thing,” Ali wrote on X. His post racked up over 1.3 million views.

Never, ever forgive ABC for what they did. We must fully and completely, 100%, boycott. If their journalists have any integrity, they will walk off the job.
Activist Brian Krassenstein blasted Disney and ABC for caving “for political reasons” and urged boycotts of Nexstar, Sinclair and their advertisers.

“Hit them where it hurts: the $$$,” he wrote.

Nexstar and Sinclair each own dozens of ABC television affiliates nationwide.

Sinclair on Wednesday said that it would not allow Kimmel’s show back on the air until the host apologizes personally to Kirk’s widow and donates money to both the family and Turning Point USA, the college campus activist group that Kirk led.

ABC, the Disney-owned network, abruptly pulled the late-night program on Wednesday after Kimmel mocked conservatives during a monologue on Monday about the assassination of Kirk.

Kimmel accused the “MAGA gang” of exploiting Kirk’s death for political gain, sparking outrage from conservative leaders and federal regulators.

FCC Chairman Brendan Carr, a Trump appointee, publicly pressured ABC to act.

“Change needs to happen on Kimmel,” Carr told conservative podcaster Benny Johnson, warning that local affiliates could face additional regulatory scrutiny if the show continued to air.

The decision by ABC blindsided Kimmel’s Los Angeles staff, who learned of the move hours before taping.

Guests booked for upcoming episodes were notified mid-travel that their appearances had been canceled.

Kimmel, 57, was spotted leaving the El Capitan Theatre that evening but declined to comment.

Sources told The Post he is “absolutely f–king livid” and exploring legal options to break from ABC.

President Donald Trump hailed the suspension as “Great News for America,” blasting Kimmel as talentless and celebrating ABC’s decision to act.

“Congratulations to ABC for finally having the courage to do what had to be done,” Trump wrote on Truth Social.

The Post has sought comment from Disney and ABC.

The C3.ai logo is seen near a computer motherboard in this illustration taken on Jan. 8, 2024.

Dado Ruvic | Reuters

Shares of the enterprise artificial intelligence company C3 AI closed down nearly 26% on Monday after it announced preliminary financial results and a restructuring of its global sales and services organization.

C3 AI said Friday that it expects to report revenue between $70.2 million and $70.4 million for its fiscal first quarter 2026, though those figures are unaudited, preliminary estimates. The company reported $87.2 million in revenue during the same period a year earlier.

Thomas Siebel, C3 AI’s CEO, said in a statement that sales results during the quarter were “completely unacceptable.” He attributed the performance to the “disruptive effect” of the reorganization, as well as his ongoing health issues.

The company expects to report a GAAP loss from operations for the quarter between $124.7 million and $124.9 million, a much wider loss than a year ago, when C3 AI had a loss of $72.59 million.

“Unfortunately, dealing with these health issues prevented me from participating in the sales process as actively as I have in the past,” Siebel said in a statement. “With the benefit of hindsight, it is now apparent that my active participation in the sales process may have had a greater impact than I previously thought.”

Siebel announced in July that he was diagnosed with an autoimmune disease earlier this year, resulting in “significant visual impairment.” C3 AI’s board and Siebel have kicked off a search for the company’s next chief executive.

C3 AI said its sales and services restructuring is complete, and Siebel said his health has “improved dramatically” except for his vision impairment. He said he is feeling strong and fully engaged, and will work to quickly identify “excellent” CEO candidates.

“I am confident the company is positioned to accelerate going forward,” Siebel said.

The company is scheduled to hold a conference call for first-quarter results on Sept. 3 at 5 p.m. ET.
