Chocolate bars sold across the U.S. are being recalled over fears they may be contaminated with salmonella.

Spring & Mulberry, a Raleigh, North Carolina–based company, is pulling certain Mint Leaf Date-Sweetened Chocolate Bars from shelves after routine testing raised safety concerns, according to a Monday announcement from the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

The recall involves lot No. 025255 of the 2.1-ounce chocolate bars, which were sold online and through select retailers nationwide since Sept. 15, 2025.

The affected bars come in teal packaging, with the lot number printed on both the box and inner wrapper.

“Spring & Mulberry is proactively recalling the specific lot in which this risk applies to protect public health,” the company noted.

“The potential for contamination was noted after routine testing by a third-party laboratory.”

No illnesses have been reported so far, according to Spring & Mulberry.

Salmonella can cause serious – and in some cases fatal – infections, particularly among young children, older adults and people with weakened immune systems.

Symptoms may include fever, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting and abdominal pain, with rare cases leading to more severe complications.

“In rare cases, infection can result in the organism entering the bloodstream and causing more severe illnesses such as arterial infections (i.e., infected aneurysms), endocarditis, and arthritis,” the announcement noted.

Consumers are urged not to eat the affected chocolate bars and to throw them away.

Refunds are available by emailing Spring & Mulberry, according to the FDA.

The announcement comes amid a slew of other food recalls.

The FDA announced last week that a recall of cheese products has been upgraded to the most serious risk category after testing positive for a potentially deadly bacteria, listeria monocytogenes.

The federal agency also recently announced that more than 38,000 cases of frozen tater tots sold in 26 states were being recalled over concerns they may contain plastic fragments.

Spring & Mulberry did not immediately respond to FOX Business’ request for comment.

Dreyer’s Grand Ice Cream is recalling thousands of Häagen-Dazs Chocolate Dark Chocolate Mini Bars sold in stores across more than 30 states after discovering the treats may contain undeclared wheat, federal regulators said.

The voluntary recall, announced Nov. 3 and posted by the Food and Drug Administration a day later, affects six-count boxes of the dessert with batch code LLA519501 and a “Best By” date of Jan. 31, 2027.

The product was distributed to Kroger and Giant Eagle supermarkets in several states, including California, Ohio, Pennsylvania and Virginia, the company said. No other Häagen-Dazs products or batches are impacted.

The product sold in stores across more than 30 states was recalled after it was learned the treats may contain undeclared wheat. FDA.Gov

Dreyer’s said it issued the recall after learning that bars containing wheat were mistakenly repacked into boxes that didn’t list the allergen on the label.

“Those with an allergy or severe sensitivity to wheat run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume these products,” the company said.

The recall affects Kroger stores in Alabama, Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Georgia, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Michigan, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Mexico, Ohio, Oregon, South Carolina, Tennessee, Utah, Virginia, Washington, West Virginia, Wisconsin and Wyoming.

Giant Eagle locations in Indiana, Maryland, Ohio, Pennsylvania and West Virginia also received the product.

Batch codes appear beneath the “Best By 31 JAN 2027” label on the box.

Dreyer’s said no illnesses or injuries have been reported.

“We are recalling this product because it may contain products that contain wheat in packaging that does not reveal the presence of wheat on the label,” the company said in a statement.

“Although our investigation is ongoing, we believe products containing wheat were repacked into the incorrect packaging at the beginning of a production run.”

Dreyer’s added that it is working with the FDA on the recall and will “cooperate with them fully.”

Disney is elevating its game when it comes to theme park dining, using artistry, real-world experiences, trends and inspiration from its classic movies to push boundaries.

“From Mickey bars to Michelin stars” was a phrase commonly used during a demonstration at Walt Disney World on Tuesday featuring food and beverage directors.

While they understand the importance of those famous character-shaped ice cream bars, they know that guests continue looking for more tasteful delights.

Dishes and drinks around Walt Disney World aim to offer something for everyone — from a sweet tooth to those craving something uniquely savory.

Even when chefs aim to keep things tight-lipped, community word of mouth quickly makes them well known.

“I wanted to keep it very sealed, secret,” Chef Stefan Riemer, Pastry Culinary Director at Walt Disney World, told FOX Business about “The Grey Stuff” from the Disney animated film “Beauty and the Beast,” which was released in 1991.

“I wanted to tease, because sometimes when you tease, it’s a surprise element, then you want to see it. You’re curious.”

Riemer said “The Grey Stuff” was created for those celebrating special occasions while dining at Be Our Guest in Magic Kingdom.

It is now part of the dessert trio at the sit-down restaurant, but can also be found at Gaston’s Tavern in the same park atop a cupcake.

Disney aims to offer something for everyone with the elevated dining options. russell102 – stock.adobe.com

Disney is revolutionizing the restaurant game at their theme parks using artistry, real-world experiences, trends, and inspiration from its classic movies to push boundaries. Disney Parks/Instagram

Disney chefs are also putting new twists on well-known dishes.

Cheeseburger Spring Roll, anyone?

Spring Roll Snack Cart in Magic Kingdom has that.

Korean Barbecue Mushroom Bao Bun?

It can be found at Tiffins in Animal Kingdom.

During a demonstration at Walt Disney World earlier this week, the phrase “From Mickey bars to Michelin stars” was commonly used. Victoria & Albert’s / Disney

But you do not have to pay park admission to enjoy culinary offerings.

Some can be found at resort eateries and Disney Springs, as well.

The offerings come as Disney seeks to rebound from lower attendance in the company’s most recent quarter, which was affected by Hurricanes Milton and Helene.

Food and beverage directors of the theme park mentioned that while they understand the significance of those famous character-shaped ice cream bars, they know that guests continue looking for more tasteful delights. instagram/disneyeats/

Riemer says food and drinks are about much more than just taste, and presentation is “the last chapter.”

“It’s all about exploring, connecting,” he said.

“I only get you to return if you liked it.”

Disney guests do like on-the-go food options, as well.

Walt Disney World serves more than 35.3 million quick-service meals, more than 3.7 million Mickey ice cream bars and more than 3 million Mickey pretzels, according to numbers provided by the company.

The recalled 1.25-ounce packages of the candy “may contain undeclared tree nuts (cashews),” an announcement from the Pennsylvania-based company published Friday by the FDA said.

The recall comes “after it was discovered that the tree-nut containing product was distributed in packaging that did not reveal the presence of tree nuts,” Gardners Candies said in the notice.

The Cappuccino Meltaway Bars subject to the recall have the lot number #082725 and expiration date 08/27/25.

Gardners Candies said the recalled products were part of Meltaway Treat Boxes containing a variety of flavors with the lot number 101625 or 112525.

People allergic to or severely sensitive to tree nuts “run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction” if they eat the recalled Cappuccino Meltaway Bars, the notice said.

The recalled 1.25-ounce packages of the candy “may contain undeclared tree nuts (cashews). FDA

Tree nut allergies are “among the most common food allergies in both children and adults,” according to the organization Food Allergy Research and Education.

The affected Gardners Candies product has not caused any illnesses to date, the recall notice said.

Gardners Candies said consumers who bought the recalled Cappuccino Meltaway or Meltaway Treat Boxes should contact them for a replacement.

The Cappuccino Meltaway Bars subject to the recall have the lot number #082725 and expiration date 08/27/25. FDA

They were sold at stores and through the mail nationwide starting in September, the recall notice said.

The FDA said the company linked the issue to a “temporary breakdown in the company’s production and packaging processes.” It has paused production of the Cappuccino Meltaway Bars “until the company is certain that the problem has been corrected,” according to the notice.

Gardners Candies dates back to the late 1800s. It has stores in multiple cities in Pennsylvania and also sells its sweets at more than 100 retailers in three states, according to its website.
